Tim Sture
Ah, my first ever competitive event was at Wiscombe. It's a bit scary trying to make yourself go fast through the gate into the woods - all you can see is a rather solid vertical surface (cannot remember if it's a grass bank or a wall) with the road disappearing off to the right. the echos of the exhaust in the woods are pretty good though, and there's a nice brow across the field in the first half before the woods - the car goes light over it, which makes for some squirming under power! The road in the woods can take most of the day to dry out too, so there's plenty of challenge in reading the road. The scenery is fab, too Some people find the closeness of the trees offputting but it didn't bother me. However, I think it's too far for me to revisit - around 16 hours' round trip towing so I'll be sticking to the more northern venues... (although it would be interesting to see how much faster an extra 60bhp would make me...)
