I'm now the proud owner of a Landy 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬

1991 200 TDi 110 CSW with a roof rack big enough to host a party

The Porsche dealer did indeed bend, well a little, zip. It looks like business is good in their game, I was greated by what I assumed was the business owners oik (as he was waxing a Boxster). He took me out in the LR for spin, his dad sold his HPC last week so he was interested in the smaller of my 2 cars ( *wink*). It turns out that the oik actually drives a very trick looking Imprezza and also has a LR. This little 2 man business turns over 4 cars a week !!! and I would expect them to be making around £5k on each car (and no they don't have any vacancies ☹️)

Also a few spotted's

x157 SMV a 2 up Caterham in Bury St Edmunds

One of those wicked Ozzie pickups on the A11, it was so fast I couldn't catch up with it to see what it actually was (Holden or Ford), it was bloomin quick

A very nice biplane near Duxford

What a nice day and it's only lunch time, I can't wait until Monday when I go back to pick up the beast.

Here's hoping for lots of snow this winter *wink*

Another se7ener who is into Landies......this is a bit weird is it not.

I thought it was just me who was a bit strange.

Mind you driving a Landie as a daily driver does have the benefits of reducing the risk of loosing your license.

The last one I drove (standard diesel, no turbo) wasn`t exactly rapid.

The strange thing was it did exactly the same speed whether it was pulling a couple of tonne or not 😬

How long is your willie ?

Now, *that* is a rude question, especially in cold weather

Apparently 90's are slightly more expensive second hand than 110's (unlike when new), I don't know why other than a 90 is better in extreme offroad as it has a smaller turning circle and has less chance of grounding on a hump.

There are 100's of Landies for sale starting at around £500 for something that moves but probably won't pass an MOT all the way up to whatever you can (or can't afford).

In so many ways a Landy is like a Seven. It's never finished, there is always another part you can add or indeed another part you can remove or upgrade, also depreciation is minimal (aside from buying or selling to a trader). Also people either keep them for 3 months or for ever.

They also say that if you don't find rust or corrosion on an old Landy then you've not looked hard enough. The high street mags for Landies (and there are at least 3 of them) are full of adverts for specialists and articles on making your Landy better/faster/less rusty/nicer/quieter etc - just like having Low Flying 3 times a month but with 150 pages. I'm hoping that mine won't just be a money pit but will become an ideal companion to my Caterham (fingers crossed)

I'll email offline with the details of mine

PS I'm looking forward to day of off roading a week tomorrow at Devils Pit just north of Luton a week on sunday - it's like a track day for 4X4's but only costs £26 for the driver and 4 passengers 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬

PPS 4 Weddings and funeral is on later tonight, and has a Landie in it, **** **** ****ity ****
