Dave Barrow
I want to replace my 4into 1 (inside engine bay) Caterham exhaust and was considering buying the below exhaust described as follows - Caterham Super 7 factory stainless steel exhaust. 4 into 2 into 1 system. Exhaust is in three parts. Manifold (comprising 4 pipes, two as singles and two joined) which exit side of car, 2 into 1 pipe, and silencer. It comes of a 1.6SS mine is a 1.8SS can any one see any problems and can I expect the right results from this exhaust. thanks for any help in advance Dave. martinwhitcher
Power speed do a VERY good 4-2-1 exhaust!! Martin MW 51 CAT Superlight No.
Dave Barrow
So I understand at about £500 not a bad price over Caterham but this one is £20+ hence my interest in finding out if this is the right one. After suspension upgrades and LSD fitted 😬 the budget has ran out this year ☹️
Dave McCulloch
Dave If this is a 2nd hand system and you don't go ahead with it, pls let me know the seller's contact details. Thanks Dave
dino ferrana
I believe that Caterham have only ever done one type of 4-2-1 exhaust. It was originally for the VHPD engines so you won't have any trouble with it.
Support Team Shaun_E Posted November 7, 2003 Support Team Share Posted November 7, 2003 Are you sure it's for a K series? The 2 joined manifold pipes sounds like a crossflow exhaust. 1.6SS could be 1.6 Super Sprint rather than 1.6 Super Sport. £20 is a real bargain if it is. hallibut
Second that - sounds like the standard super sprint exhaust to me... Martin The Layham Seven Project
dino ferrana
Sorry yes assumed you knew it was a K-series exhaust! Reading your post carefully it doesn't sound like a K-Series one. They would usually be a lot more than £20 for a 4-2-1.
caterhamnut
Dave - check its right, then grab it. £20 is a joke, and if its the right one its the first upgrade you should do - big difference on car, and other power upgrades pointless until you do this. Incidently, its a very worthwhile upgrade even if you intend to do nothing else. Jason Plato
Too good to be true @ £20 , sadly yes this sounds like a xflow exhaust with the manifold in 3 pieces 2 single pipes and 2 pipes as a pair ☹️ Lotus 7 Club Speed Champion 2003 South Wales Area Organiser C7 TOP
Dave Barrow
I was told it was off a K 1.6SS so is this possible if the manifold is in 2 single pipes and 1 pair??
robmar
to be honest even if you bought it for 20 quid and it didn't fit I would have thought you could get your money back via the for sale section rob ps is this the one on ebay 🤔
