Psycho man
How Stupid is this, to stick ones hand into the fan duct in the passenger foot well while the heater is running. Yep I did that, luckily the fan came off worse than my fingers. Now I need a new fan. Do I need to go to Caterham or can I source it more conveniently. And in changing it, is there anything I should be weary about in unplugging the switch connection and removing the 4 Phillips screws to take off the heater to get to the fan (seeing as I did not build it myself), the rest will be a mystery. 95 1600 x/f TIA Jason
Red SLR
I suggest that you get hold of Caterham parts dept first. Oh and Mr Wong to put your fingers back on. teeth.gif X777CAT
stevefoster
Surely SVA must cover such simple things and so do British and EU safety standards.... Sue Caterham for the price of new fingers and fan. No don't sue them. They would go out of business and I wouldn't want that. They make such wonderful cars.
Psycho man
No the safety is already in place. Firstly one has got to be a contortionist to get in that position. Secondly the fan fins bust on impact and thirdly you have got to be really stupid to go prodding round for fans. If I sue the accident insurance on my name will increase due to the daft premium. I’m just now paranoid that I could screw things up even worse by attempting a repair.
Graham Perry
I heard a rumour once, that I didn't pass on for obvious embarrassing reasons, that the Caterham fan is similar to one used in certain Reliant models. This could of course be a load of C**p but my source was normally reliable.
