Tricky
Can anyone give me a starting point for dry tyre pressure on the A048s for trackday use? Tricky Academy 2003 Group 1 Number
Support Team Shaun_E Posted November 6, 2003 Support Team Share Posted November 6, 2003 You could try 17-18psi cold which should give you 20-22 psi hot. This is what most people seem to run for A032R's and A021R's so should also apply to A048's which are the same compound as A021R's. I have run 21's on several track days and normally get the tyres to just over 20 psi hot and this seems fine - grip is good and I haven't noticed the tyres squirming on the rims so they aren't too soft. I think Angus' website here has some information on A048R's. Shaun Yellow SL #

Tricky
OK ThanX for the starting point. Off to Brands on Monday so the info will be helpfull. According to Steve Polley when I picked the tyres up this PM the "M" compound is between A032 "S" & "SS". I'm expecting 4K miles from the set, does this sound realistic? caterhamnut
Depends entirely on how you use them ie: dry trackdays/road use. I'm sure we have got more out of them, but thats because we do high mileage trips. wear rate on 'normal' driving is pretty good. Just don't spin the rear wheels too much for 'fun' - thats when they go quickly. You'll enjoy them though Updated MODEL and Cartoon pictures at mycaterham.com here 50,000miles in 2 years
