Jason Plato
Tony , Dont forget that the MEMS ecu only works with the matching imobliser , unless you get it recalibrated at a rover dealer . Right pain in the arse ( unless your a car theif ?? !! ) Dave
Delberts Wallet
Tony, what is included in "and parts" bit? As I'm thinking of going for the SS upgrade I may be interested but only if it included ECU and Cams. If this is the case then please get in touch
Richard_E
Hi Tony, I too have a 1.6 SS and I am thinking about doing what you have. I have a few questions if you don't mind answering them. 1) How do you find the car drives with the new improvements, is there more power across the board or just at higher RPM? 2) Is the car still driveable in town at low RPM? 3) Did you have new cams as well? Any feedback would be much appreciated
Tony Martyr
Richard. Answer to your questions 1) How do you find the car drives with the new improvements, is there more power across the board or just at higher RPM? The power is noticable only at 5000 rpm and upwards. The old surge at 4500 continues into a new surge - and of course it sounds quite different 2) Is the car still driveable in town at low RPM? It is less easy to drive from stop. As I expected the lack of inlet air plenum means the pick up is less subtle. In fact the whole thing is less suble and smooth. Starting needs more caranking and a slight pedal pressure. The new throttle linkage needs much more foot pressure. But it does fly 3) Did you have new cams as well? No I kept the supersport cams. I will do a season in this condition and next winter may work on suspension. I think my driving now has the catch up with the car. Le Sept will tell
