Complete Zetec installation.

I have decided that life is too short to wait until the winter of 2004 to do my Duratec conversion. To fund the upgrade I have to sell my complete Zetec installation. I set out to build an 1800 cc / 190 bhp engine with certain characteristics. Having achieved this I now want a new project.

The specification is as follows:

1800 Zetec with Mahle 0.5 mm oversize pistons

11:1 compression ratio (runs on 95 octane fuel)

Dyno tested at 187 bhp

Ported big valve head with Raceco 33 / 29 mm oversize valves

Flowbench tested

Matched inlet manifold

Kent FZ2001 262 degree camshafts

Kent valve springs

ARP rod bolts

Steel flywheel

Heavy duty clutch

Dynamically balanced

Aluminium underdriven crank pulley

45 mm Weber throttle bodies

Jenvey bellmouths

Pipercross filters

Weber adjustable fuel pressure regulator

MBE ECU and loom,

Weber Pico 330 cc injectors

Baffled sump

Price to include:

Engine mounts

Aluminium bellhousing

Alternator and brackets

Starter motor

Exhaust system with Raceco titanium silencer.

Cooling system with custom-made swirl pot, hoses etc.

Spare throttle cable

Spare alternator belt

This is everything you need apart from a high-pressure pump / injection fuel tank. The engine has only done around 5,000 miles since it was built.

The new cost of all the components easily in excess of £5,000.00. This does not include the labour to build the engine, port the head, etc. I am looking for offers in the region of £3,300.00.

The car goes like stink. It has 340 bhp per ton. Anybody interested is welcome to come and try the car first. It is coming off the road at the end of November.

If anybody wants to have a chat about this my 'phone numbers are 01394 383499 / 07860 494064. I'll also be taking the car to Brands on Monday November 10th if someone wants to have a ride there. This will be my last trackday of the year and a good chance for a potential buyer to see what my little gem is capable of.

Simon

I have somebody coming from York to try the car on Tuesday afternoon. There are also another couple of people sniffing around / trying to get their finances sorted.

If doesn't go on Tuesday you are welcomed to come around on Friday. Give me a ring before you come.
