Graham Sewell
Is there a permanent fix to the problem of rear bearings coming loose in the axle casing? I am now on my third repair in 15 months and getting fed up with it. The choice of going to an Escort axle is out on grounds of expense - new axle, modified chassis and 5 new wheels. I don't know much about Derek Moore's mods for the Academy/Scholarship cars. And I know even less about the Fireblade conversion. Any ideas anyone???? Graeme Smith
AS far as I understand, the CCC fix is to put in a soft metal (copper?) spacer to prevent the movement. As the Marina axles varied in tolerances, there's a number of different sized spacers available. Since this has been done, the number of wheels coming loose/off in Graduates racing has fallen dramatically, so it does appear to work/improve matters. THe Fireblade axle does look interesting - anyone spoken to Doug Newman (?) about how its done, cost, etc.?
