ewenm
Gentle but big hug required ☹️ Was cycling home on my road bike from training at Bath Uni last night down a steep hill, doing about 30mph when a deer jumped into the road, landing under my front wheel. Boonie Hound
I would hug you but fear I might hurt you - hands over box of plasters which look like medals. More importantly though - how's the deer?

c21vhpd
OUCH Sorry to hear that you're injured Ewen! I don't encounter many deer on the way home in Cambridge. Squirrels - that's different! They have this amazing trick of running out in front ot you, telescoping up, inverting themselves and running away from you, all the space of time it takes me to start to twitch a finger on the brake lever! c21vhpd
I can clearly remember the sound of the helmet hitting the road I had one of those once. Sprinting up a hill in Newcastle in town, when for reasons best known to itself, the transmission jammed. I ended up coming down on the road headfirst, and I could feel it compressing underneath my head. I almost never go out without one on now...
