rgrigsby
If anyone is planning on switching I'm just keeping an eye out for one for a winter upgrade.... (finally giving up with my Type 9 box!!) Rob G www.SpeedySeven.com
V7 SLR
What diff are you running Rob? You might find your road cruising compromised with a 6-speeder but you ought to be faster on track. Would have thought 6-speeders are a bit rare second hand. Have you looked into revised ratios on your current box? rgrigsby
V7 SLR I'm on a 3.92diff but I would change to a 3.62 if I fitted a 6 speed box. The main reason is I keep breaking my 5 speed box and the choices seem to be either a dog/straight cut 5 speeder or a 6 speed box. I'd prefer the 6 speed box just to keep it a bit more road friendly. Arnie I'll give you a call later on today.. Rob G www.SpeedySeven.com
V7 SLR
The 6-speeder is a great box, no doubt. Should perfectly compliment a revvy x-flow (as I'm sure yours is. Good luck. rgrigsby
Oh yes definetly revvy... went out on sunday for a quick blat with the nice cold air it loves blasting to 8500rpm in every gear.... Rob G www.SpeedySeven.com
EFA
8500rpm?? Stick with the 3.92 diff!! Fat Arn Visit the K2 RUM website See the Lotus Seven Club 4 Counties Area Website here
V7 SLR
Hoopy has a sub-8000rpm limit and he's on a 3.92 diff. It keeps his car singing all the time. I think for racing purposes you'll be much more effective with a 3.92. Try first I suppose. Don't suppose it's rocket science to borrow a 3.62 to try out before you commit to one. scooby dooby doo
my limit is 8000 (but it should really be 8500 if i weren't so chicken) and i have the 3.92. yes revs on the motorway are high - but the car is built for hairpins not the M6 ❗ 😬 HOOPY R706KGU Hoopylight R
rgrigsby
It appears there maybe a queue for the box mentioned above... I'm No.3 in the queue!! so still looking 😬 V7 I think I'll stick with the 3.92 initally (mainly for cost reasons!!) and then see how it goes, if it becomes a pain it's fairly easy to switch...
