richardhomer
Has anyone come across a good workshop manual for the K series engines ? 1.8 SV160 S7OMA
henry21p
I find a combination of Dave Andrews' telephone number and access to his website quite good. www.dvapower.co.uk P523 BPB - Caterham 21 Captain Scarlet Evolution www.caterham21.com
oilyhands
I know a man, who knows a man, who knows a man, who has the entire offiicial engine workshop manual for the K series on CD. If I twist his arm and he twists his arm etc. he may be persuaded to do a copy. Oily
TonyC
My copy from the CD previously referred to is in a garage in Felbridge. TC
Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted October 1, 2003 Leadership Team Share Posted October 1, 2003 Richard, if you're at the Cheshire meet next week I might be able to get you a copy of the afformentioned cd sorted - otherwise I could pass it to one of the lads who gets down to the staffordshire meet? Englishmaninwales
Stu - would you let me make a copy of it as well? Malcolm
Sheds Moderator
With a degree of common sense the Hades manual for the Rover 200 can be pressed into service. It's all I used for a head gasket change. Bits and pieces may have to be worked out from scratch, like how the DS pump tensioner works, but it's not rocket science. Crucially all the torque settings are there.
WD
Oily Could I maybe twist your arm for a CD? (About to undertake 6K service and info on the K series would be a comfort) Bill
Jason Plato
The manual is available here : http://www.furiousgeorge.co.uk/elise/downloads/Parts%20List.pdf http://www.furiousgeorge.co.uk/elise/downloads/Service%20Manual.pdf Dave
Slipper man
I rebuilt my R500 using the Haynes manual for the Landrover Freelander. Very good it is too.
Christian P
Some kind of gag about knobbly tyres seems appropriate here but I've come up short. 😬 C7 CCL - broom broom
Bob_r
It seems there is a glut of Freelander Workshop Manual CD's available on ebay! Might be worth a look. Blatting around Bucks
Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted October 3, 2003 Leadership Team Share Posted October 3, 2003 Keith - I have both the Haynes Freelander manual and the afformentioned CD - as far as the engine is concerned the Haynes manual is not even in the same ball-park. I used to worship Haynes manuals - this is the first I've bougt in a long time and what a waste of money. We have a Freelander which needed a couple of jobs doing, and neither was covered! It's just not a comprehensive handbook any more. Stu.
Slipper man
How odd, Stu. I bought mine for the wife's Freelander and thought it was very good. What jobs didn't it cover?

Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted October 4, 2003 Leadership Team Share Posted October 4, 2003 Mart - I've run off a half dozen copies. Keith - I had to replace the rear door seal - if you can find any details you're better at it than me Stu.
