Duxford - last airshow 2003

There are a few preserved JU-87s around the world, but none are airworthy and none were airworthy back in 1968 either. The one at Hendon is a JU-87B which is correct for the B of B. Later versions such as the JU-87G were quite diffrerent in appearance with a less angular look and a sloping canopy.

The Ju-87 was a very effective tactical bomber, provided there was no serious opposotion. The current day equivalent is the Fairchild A-10. It performs a virtually identical task and, like the JU-87, is painfully slow compared to its contemporaries.

Steve,

Glad you had a good time - hope your head wasn't too sore.

The show was good but not great - there weren't as many planes there as usual and there WAS NO HARRIER ☹️ *mad* 🙆🏻 ☹️ *mad* 🙆🏻 Still it was nice to see a few Shedders there *wink* *thumbup*

*wink*
