captain chaos
I've got the big brakes on the front and need a master cylinder to give them some bite?
Mike Bees
What do you mean by "give them some bite"? The effect of the big master cylinder is to increase the effort you need to put on the pedal, and decrease the travel of the pedal. This is a Good Thing, but it doesn't "give the brakes more bite". Rob Morris
Think that this is what the Captain means. As I'm about to fit the uprated cylinder because the big brakes with the std cylinder = excess pedal movement. Could come in handy for those trackdays! StewartG
To get more bite you need more rabid pads in fact the big m/cylinder makes them feel more wooden but less travel.
captain chaos
It may not be everyone's cup of tea...but Stewarts description is the feel I prefer...but with a bit more bite from the pads! Anyway, who has got a M/Cyl for sales

Blatman
If it's the bog standard W e s t f i e l d master cylinder, it probably won't give the feel you are looking for. I had to swap my standard one for a Caterham AP one when I fitted Princess calipers. If memory serves, when I asked the W e s t f i e l d factory what their master cylinder was, they said .7, but it actually worked out (according to Lucas-Girling) to be .675, and it would appear the factory rounded up. In any case, I couldn't get the Princess calipers to work well with the standard W e s t f i e l d master cylinder, and I have found the AP job to be absolutely superb, for me , anywayteeth.gif
