Nearside and offside and drivers-side...

The driver's side is the nearside if you are driving a left-hooker in the UK

The off-side is the side away from the pavement, so it could be the passenger side, if you park on the right-hand-side of the road but if you turn the car round on the off-side and park in the direction of the traffic then the passenger side will become the near-side *wink*

Seriously, in general terms, the off-side is the driver's side. The near-side is the side nearest to the kerb.

😬 😬 😬

Well, after the stereotypical problems the mother land (allegedly) had with fitting gearboxes the wrong way round during the second big one, I'd have thought they'd have it all worked out by now *tongue* - and no offence intended... Don't mention the thingy and all that>
