Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted September 15, 2003 Leadership Team Share Posted September 15, 2003 I've noticed that there are usually 2 pipes from the cam cover to a catch tank (wet sump) and many catch tanks have 2 inlets. Is there a reason for having 2 fitted, or is it just to accomodate the fact that there's usually two vents on the cam cover 🤔 Fitting 2 seems a complicated arrangement if only 1 is necessary. Stu. Leadership Team Mcalvert Posted September 16, 2003 Leadership Team Share Posted September 16, 2003 Hmm. I assumed that the reason that the catch tank has 2 connectors was one for input, and the other to allow the air to vent back out to prevent the tank being pressurised. Probably wrong though Michael. Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted September 16, 2003 Author Leadership Team Share Posted September 16, 2003 Cheers Michael - I'm a bit baffled because the setup inside the cam cover is the same for both vents - wire gauze filter in both. I can only assume the cam covers are designed for the individual engine installation, with the necessary vents. Stu.
