Anthony Micallef Posted February 15, 2001 Share Posted February 15, 2001 I know this has nothing to do with Caterham's but I have a problem with my car and my local mechanic says he doesn't know whats wrong with it.I know that there are alot of knowledgable people on this site so I thought I would give it a go. About last April the clutch cable on my ZX 2.0i 16v disconnected itself from the clutch about 3 times in as many weeks.The AA mechanic said this was a fail safe to stop the cable snapping as the clutch probably needed replacing.I duly replaced the clutch and have been trouble free up until a few weeks ago since when its happened again twice. The only other thing that my mechanic said was that the cable may need replacing. Does anyone have any other ideas? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I reply to every thread Posted February 15, 2001 Share Posted February 15, 2001 He reckons that the cable should always be replaced with the clutch so you are starting with all things to tolerance. I will get the cable replaced, does your friend have any idea how much this would cost?
