Jaseb
Having got the zetec in the hole I noticed that I can see the flywheel (and yes I should have seen it before it went in, don't know here my head was!) what have you guys done?! Is it a case of fabricating something. I hope not as my metal working skills are kinda limited...
Chelspeed
Don't worry about it unless you regularly drive across ploughed fields. The hole will help cool the clutch and allow any debris that finds it's way in get out easily. I'm running a tiny flywheel and I've removed the whole bottom of my bellhousing and the flywheel is exposed from underneath, as well as in front of the engine, over about a third of it's circumference. Not a problem.
Mr Locust
As long as it's not from the driving seat it's ok
Jaseb
I kinda worried about stones and other debris getting in and jamming the works e.g. me sliding into a gravel trap and collecting harmful stuff
felix.klauser
Had my Zetec that way for 6 years and countless track days without a problem. Never entered the kitty litter at speed though!
stevefoster
We made a cover plate for Nigel's and Phil has done something to cover it I'm sure. Even if it's only a clean with thinners and some ali tape over the hole it's going to keep stones out... I.Mupferit
Mine has been like that since I installed it 4 years ago and not had any probs with it since. Raceline told me not to worry about it................so I haven't ❗ Just don't go poking your fingers around that area with the engine running...........a bad idea Brent Zetec
