bertie
The car is a genuine Sport 160 Elise, owned by myself from new with 3900 miles on it. Norfolk mustard yellow with blue Alcantara interior. When Lotus launched the Sport 160 they were done under SVA regulations (single vehicle approval) which is limited to 50 cars. These first 50 SVA cars had a GEMS engine ECU and the mapping of these is dreadful, with very lumpy idle and flat spots under acceleration under certain circumstances. After the first 50 they moved to WVTA regulations (whole vehicle type approval) which is the normal regulations for cars. To do this they had to pass more stringent tests which meant they changed to en EFI Technology ECU with better engine mapping, and also they fitted an oil cooler. My car is one of the later WVTA cars and so it has the later ECU and oil cooler in addition to the 160ps engine, motor sport suspension, competition wheels, sports seats etc which all the Sport 160s had. Compared to a standard Elise the top end power is improved and they rev out much more enthusiastically. The motor sport suspension is >apparently a big improvement but I haven't driven a standard car for any length of time to tell you myself. Currently residing at Caterham Midlands for them to sell for me, please mail me if you want pictures of any further details.
