david nelson
I think this might be how it goes? If your sl was made by the factory it needed a exhaust with a cat, so no com 4-1 exhaust. If the sl was home built or by another compony then it got round the cat reg. I have a late sl #148 and it does not have a comp exhaust, but it was built by CC in 2001 so would need a cat and needs one for the mot. hope this helps
robmar
my sl #147 didn't come with a decent exhaust, I thought it did, the sales boy said it did, but it didn't there must have been a point in time when the spec changed, but when I am not sure making the hole is relatively easy with a flap wheel as hoops suggests rob
Mark P
Blimey ..... what a can of worms !!! As the forthcoming proud owner of said exhaust ... I now need to investigate the fitting. As I understand it, the main problem is the hole. I have contacted Caterham who have quote approx 3 hours work therefore approx £150. Anybody willing to provide a template of their hole (oooooh ere misses) or pass on any tips.
Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted August 8, 2003 Leadership Team Share Posted August 8, 2003 I'm led to believe that Caterham will supply a template if you ask them nicely - probably best to speak to the technical department - 01322 625802.
