K-series thermostat part numbers

On my K's I prefered to use a GTS1102, which is a 78C stat.

 

I also found the same 78C or maybe it was a 74C stat in halfords by rummaging through all the boxes on the shelf *biggrin* with a vernier. The one I found needed to have 1mm or so ground off its outer edge to fit the K series thermostat housing - I'm damn sure it was a 74C jobbie tho .... sods law that i cant find the box in my garage *rolleyes*

It is my opinion that a K running at 74 Deg is far too cool if it atkesa 74 stat to keep your engine under control there is summat else wrong.

I run an 82 and even at that am worried that the engine takes a long time to get up to heat and has a tendancy to overcool at times
