Yamaha FS1E

FS1E

Yeah, but the Fizzy would start first-time-every-time and would shrug off an amazing amount of abuse/neglect. My mate's supposedly "faster" Caselli was such a pig to start he used to need two plugs. One for starting and warming up, and one for hot running. Jeez, we spent a lot of time trying to bump start that pile of sh%t! All the Itallian competition at the time were about as reliable as chocolate condoms... 😬

IMHO the only one that was better than the FS1E was the Suzuki AP50. That had a 5-speed box. How envious was I...

No way I had the fastest of them all....

Suzuki ER50, with 71 cc big bore, Hi power reeds, K and N filter, Ginelli exhaust, huge front sprocket (for big gearing) and the front drum brakes wound up as tight as possible to prevent monster fade!

Could get that baby off the clock (60 mph plus) by lying prone on the tank! Revved to about 10000rpm, seized up weekly, and had a 2000 rpm power band.

Oh and I dropped a bit of castrol R in the tank, for that authentic smell!

It was teenage heaven *wink*
