Chas Guirey
I hope someone can shed some light on my problem. Vauxhall 8v sprint - the car has suddenly developed a howling noise when it is put into top gear, the howl is worse when accelerating. The diff was changed about 2 months ago so I assume that it is the gearbox. Has anyone else had a similiar problem? I would be gratfeul for any advice before taking the car in to the garage. regards Chas
j_thombs
Hi Does the howl only appear in 5th ? Is it worse with light throttle applications or when you are just backing off ? Does it seem to be speed dependant ? Jon Beaulieu no31 My Caterham Pics

j_thombs
Chas The only reason I ask is that I have something similar that came on after a trackday. Was told "They all do that sir" when I enquired. Jon Beaulieu no31 My Caterham Pics
