Peter Carmichael
If it helps, I think my headers are 1 7/8 and I think 16 gauge (the easiest one to remember as its 1.6mm wall thickness). This means the internal bore is 1 3/4. The manifold is quite heavy, not necessarily by intent but its is just the way it turned out. The 4-1 steps up to something like 2 1/8 and there is a further step up to 2 3/4 at the entrance to the silencer.
Graham Perry
Wasn't there some debate a year or so ago where the conclusion was that the 1 7/8 primaries were actually an 1/8 too wide and that a tiny amount more power could be had with 1 3/4 inch primaries on an R500 ? Of course I could be remembering nonsense though. Edited by - Graham Perry on 10 Jul 2003 18:11:
