wonkey eyed barmaid
hi all, have a friend who recently got a 99 classic vx (woohoo 😬) - but hes having trouble with the standard fit vecta immobiliser. push the keyfob button once - hazards flash once - red led stays lit/flashing - car still imobilised?? whats the purpose of this? push they keyfob button more than once (or hold for a few seconds, im not sure) - hazards flash 3 times - red led goes out/stops flashing - car no longer imobilsed. but wait a few seconds, say for fuel pump to prime, and car imobilises again - very frustrating. is there a correct procedure for activating/deactivating the vecta? whats the purpose/significance of having 1 flash and 3 flashes? cheers. Julian Thompson
Perhaps a bit of confusion here; the Vecta has a little black and red plastic key chip that inserts into a rectangular receptacle on the dash; there are no buttons on a Vecta to press...... Do you have a remote control handset with buttons on it? wonkey eyed barmaid
yes. the immobiliser in question (on my friends car) has a keyfob remote with 2 buttons. im sure it was a vecta sticker on the back, so presumed it was the standard fit item. obviously not. (my microscan item just has a black transponder that automatically immobilses/re-mobilises* the car when i get in our out. no buttons, no sockets in dash )  so whats he doing wrong? >grant. *is re-mobilises a word?
