Paul Ranson Posted July 8, 2003 Share Posted July 8, 2003 Surely any competent tyre fitter can fit any normal tyre to a normal rim? And CR500s are normal tyres. I usually use the Tyre Warehouse on the Buckingham Road Industrial Estate in Brackley. They seem helpful. Alternatively you could ask one of the local specialists who they use, I'd probably try 'Brooke Kensington' in Bicester first. I know that BMTR have a van that trawls Midlands garages picking up and dropping off wheels/tyres. I've had racing slicks fitted and delivered to (I think) the Lotus dealer in Warwick. Support Team Shaun_E Posted July 8, 2003 Support Team Share Posted July 8, 2003 Nick, Peter Griffiths used a mobile fitter from somewhere around Buckingham who he rated (cheap and was careful) and subsequently JaseB used him too. Peter's Bordeaux Blatting but Jason should know the name and number of the fitter. If you go to a normal tyre place with the wheels on the car then watch them like a hawk - make sure they don't over torque your wheel nuts (55 lb/ft) and watch where they jack the car up. Anyway, if you're buying the kind of tyres that BMTR sell it may be worth asking them where their van is going to be. Or make it about the time of a British or Midland Hillclimb round and drop your wheels off here... You can then not pay for delivery or fitting.
