John Gaines
I have a late 2L zetec and need to know the best part of the system to place the temp sensor for the engine management. Many thanks, John.
I.Mupferit
What are you using for the water flow from the cylinder head to the radiator? I have the Raceline water rail which has 2 tappings at the rear immediately in front of the water outlet from the head. I use 1 for the temperature gauge and 1 for the ECU. John Gaines
I am using the original Zetec thermostat housing with 35mm tube to the rad. Is it a case of tapping the blind hole in the thermostat housing?
I.Mupferit
Anywhere around there should be ok, but preferably on the 'upstream' side of the thermostat so that the ecu reads the true temperature of the engine at all times rather than the sometimes cooler downstream side when the thermostat is closed. Paul Turner
John Surely you can use the top position as used by Ford for the ECU sensor, when I investigated injecting my Zetec (pre 98) both Dunnell and Scholar said to use the standard sensor, worth investigating this with Lumenition.
