julians
How do you go about removing the two bushes, I undid the clamp that clamps the two columns, but I cant remove the top half from the tube, didnt seem to want to budge. Once thats done, whats the knack for removing and refitting new bushes? cheers
Martin Plant
If you have a steering column with the sleeve for the steering lock it will not come out without removing the top bush. Some advocate lubricating the bush to aid removal - I found brute force was all that was needed. Just tug hard and sharp on the steering wheel using the sleeve to effectively drive out the bush from below. New one just presses in quite easily if you use something to lubricate it. Why would you want to replace the bottom one? Martin www.caterhamblackbird.com
