Vx head gasket failure?

It was a pleasure to drive L7 FUN yesterday Paul and a stark reminder as to how slow a K series car is.....

 

I did think your gearbox works much better than mine on the downchange, but the stick required a lot to throw on the upchanges. It seemed to disengage the dogs OK , but it could not engage them for the next gear which tends to suggest the engine inertia is the compromise betwen downchange/upchange - makes sense as I have the smaller lighter flywheel clutch....

 

I gave it quite a thrashing though (I'd been at the layby about 6 mins when you trundled in in the K) and the water temp remained at <90 degrees throughout.

 

Thoroughly good fun though, and I only wish K2 RUM had cost me as little as you car appears to have cost you to get this far.......
