Maccers Posted January 29, 2001 Share Posted January 29, 2001 I have bought a 96 Classic, and am thinking about fitting lager wheels. At present the car sits on 13*5.5's. What is the biggest size I can fit without upsetting the speedo and wearing out the wheel hubs earlier than normal? I was thinking about 14*6 Superlites. RM. Don't throw the 13 inch ones out though as you'll need these for track days. And before you ask most people get bitten by the bug sooner or later. Alex Wong1697456877 Posted January 30, 2001 Share Posted January 30, 2001 An alternative is to fit 70 profile tyres on your 13" wheels. Otherwise I'd go for 60 profiles on 14". I once had some 13*7 Superlites on my Mini, hit a wheel that was lying in the middle of the road, and the rim split in two, going at 20/25 mph. bl0498 Posted February 2, 2001 Share Posted February 2, 2001 Maccers, Have you looked at the standard factory Minator wheels. They are not that expensive (about £60 each) and look the part.
