allegro
My 2001 SLR has done 8 K miles. 4 track days and 8 sprints. Today it has gone in for replacement prop shaft and drive shaft oil seals to the diff,(diff oil everywhere) new front discs (warped, conciderably worse when hot ) and new rear anti roll bar bushes.(I can waggle the ARB by hand) Is this normal, or am I doing something very wrong ? scooby dooby doo
My record for a set of Yoko 32Rs is only 2000 miles. And I don't get anything like that much wear / tear / damage HOOPY R706KGU Hoopylight R
ROC
I too have a 2001 SL with 13K on the clock. I have had only one of those problems - the front disks being warped. I have however had: a new altenator @ 500 miles, a new clutch cable @ 8K, a new idicator & high and low beam switches and three new radiator switches 🙆🏻. scooby dooby doo
apart from the disks and alternators those are all ENTIRELY normal failures... I have a different indicator switch from std and the ECU switches the fan to avoid them. i think i'm on my 2nd or 3rd clutch cable as well. stevefoster
My 97 HPC has done a bit more work than that and the only think like that I have replaced is the lower wishbone rose joints, the top links and the track rod ends. All shafts/bushes/clutch cable/engine mounts etc are original and in good health. Hmmm, i wonder if the suppliers for some of these bits has changed on newer cars?
