wonkey eyed barmaid
hi, are the 'FIA' bars that caterham sell stamped or stickered in any way showing FIA approval of the design & materials? if not, is it possible to have an FIA bar made to spec by a roll cage specialist, and still be ok to use it on track days and club days? where could i find out the type of materials used and the tube sizes required? (i have heard of a guy in wales who makes excellent roll cages to order)
Big Brother
The short cockpit roll bars made by Arch are made to comply with the FIA specifications. They do not however have a sticker to show they meet this specification. Steve Se7en-Up! Less is more! Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines! Myles
Granteuk, I've got a 2001 Roadsport with FIA fitted (only 3 months ago, I believe) - it has an Arch sticker on it saying that it is FIA compliant and that the sticker should not be overpainted or removed for scrutineering purposes. I assume that you can't sticker-up without it meeting design and materials approvals. Regds, Myles
