Nick Woods
weather is looking ok at the moment here but then they did say last Sunday would be wet and we got sunburnt on the beach with the kids ... And Saturday and Monday are both showing as wet so it doent leave much room for error Nick P8MRA - Red and Black 1.6K supersport I dont believe in Fate, but I do believe in Sh*t, because Sh*t happens - here and here Edited by - Nick Woods on 2 Jul 2003 09:20:
Boonie Hound
Now very excited about going to Duxford for the air display although ☹️ that I will not be there on the Sunday. Rach/ Alex - will you be at your parking place on the Saturday? Are you all meeting somewhere on Sunday before you go in?

Rachael
Boonie, Yes we will be there on the Saturday...am not sure which field we will be in, it depends how busy they are when we get there...we can all meet up somewhere else before hand if you like... Either you can come to ours or maybe the McDonalds on the roundabout... Rach
Boonie Hound
Cheers Rach - what kind of time would you want to get there. We might meet you first or go in first and then come out to find you. I'll have to consult first. By the way like the new 7 you are showing on the webcam although I miss the sheep.
allen
Hi Rach ❗ I'm still hoping to come but will be Saturday - can I have the same info as Boonie - thanks
Rachael
Boonie, Hadn't even looked at that picture on the web cam until just now It was Alex's leaving gift from work...I am sure the sheep will reappear again soon Allen, Boonie, Will mail you with details of where to find us - I can't remember, but think we usually head down to Duxford for about 12ish - they say flying starts at 2, but it sometimes starts earlier than the published time...if I include mobile details then hopefully we can all meet up at some point ☹️ they aren't listing any modern aircraft this year...and before anyone starts I know it is the flying legends show, but they usually have at least a Harrier - which is of course legendary - and a Tornado. 😬 Rach
Nick Woods
but they usually have at least a Harrier - which is of course legendary - and a Tornado. [pantomime mode]Oh no they dont [/panto mode] but they often do have them at the september show.... I'm trying to round up a few Carroteers to come along, so far its me, Nifty and Mark Hicks (I dont know if Sue is going as well) Nick P8MRA - Red and Black 1.6K supersport I dont believe in Fate, but I do believe in Sh*t, because Sh*t happens - here and here
Rachael
Cool. Look forward to seeing some of you there. Are you coming down on Sunday? Ohohoh and they have the Red Arrows confirmed for the September show as well - not quite as good as a Harrier, but not bad 😬 Rach
Boonie Hound
Sorry this is a real yokel local announcement but there will be a Spitfire flypast for the Doddington carnival - Cambridgeshire - this Saturday. Anybody near the village should see it around 10 am I think but the paper didn't give exact times.
Nick Woods
We are planning to go on Sunday if the weather forecast is good, but if the forecast is good for Saturday and bad for Sunday we may switch. I'm still hoping to be able to borrow a radio scanner so we can listen in to the chatter between the tower and the planes Nick P8MRA - Red and Black 1.6K supersport I dont believe in Fate, but I do believe in Sh*t, because Sh*t happens - here and here

Steve-B
due to our ruined evening last night i don't think we'll have our car back by next weekend. that is unless i can show up in the M and not be abused by you lot. gutted of ruislip, Steve B Faster than the Speed of Dark Join us on USA 2005...here
Rachael
Steve, ☹️ Really sorry to hear about your car - hope that kid gets all that is coming to him. Know how it feels, last year some woman in a BMW was going too fast on a narrow road and trashed the whole of the back of our car, she then drove off. I am still suffering from the whiplash and we were stopped at the time!! Still compensation claim should soon be settled - so she'll pay... As for Duxford, come along in any car you like, no one will take the mickey...we often go in the Honda because you can stand on it and get a better view than you would in the Se7en 😬 Hope you get your car back better than ever soon! scooby dooby doo
Em and I have cunning plans... Could Emma drive down Friday night and then leave her car at the house of a friendly shedder near Duxford but easy to find for us both 🤔 Then I can give her a lift the last bit home. Then on the Sunday Em only has to drive for 3 hours from cam and not all the way from london. HOOPY R706KGU Hoopylight R
Rachael
Hoop, Em Shouldn't be a problem, I am sure we can look after it for a couple of days. We're only 10 minutes or so from Duxford and just off the A11 so you should be able to find us without any trouble. Rach
scooby dooby doo
Cheers Rach Can you send me a postcode so I can streetmap you 🤔 Also, what time do we need to be there 🤔 ISTR that we're going into the airfield itself (rather than 2, the field) and we need to do so by 12. Is that right HOOPY R706KGU Hoopylight R
Nick Woods
ISTR the flying starts at 2pm but because the place gets so busy and there is so much to look at its best to get there as early as is practical - IMHO 10am is a good time Nick P8MRA - Red and Black 1.6K supersport I dont believe in Fate, but I do believe in Sh*t, because Sh*t happens - here and here

Boonie Hound
Hoopy - Em can always leave her car with me As we have no space available on the drive it's only fair I tell you I would have to drive it lots so the neighbours don't complain........oh worth a try....gets coat
