Anthony Micallef
My brake lights have decided that they are going to stay on all the time! Can anyone suggest what the problem may be and how to resolve it?  Goodbye to the South.Hello to the North 😬 😬 😬
ChrisC
What type of switch do you have, pressure based or is it a mechanical switch in the pedal box. If you don’t know, how old is the car 🤔 Chris.... H15 SVN Get it !
Anthony Micallef
Thats a bit too technical for me! The car is 3 years old and is a 1.6 Supersport. Goodbye to the South.Hello to the North 😬 😬 😬
ChrisC
It’s a switch located in your pedal box. Remove the pedal box cover and check that the switch has not come lose and need adjusting.  Hope this helps Chris.... H15 SVN Get it !
Steve-B
if its not in need of adjusting it may be stuck inside. you can very carefully take the switch off (with the key turned off) and remove the switch. very gently pry the bottom open, and observe the order that the parts come out. find the metal bit and use some wet/dry 600grit sprayed with wd40. put switch back together. you just saved some dosh. go to pub and have pint with savings. Steve 210Bhp Sinister Version-VHPD here
Gary G
Anthony, If you haven't moved moved up north yet, pop over to my place one night this week. I've had to take my switch apart because the brake lights weren't working, so I'm now familiar with the advice given above...
Anthony Micallef
Gary, thanks for the offer but Im now living up north since Sunday. Thanks for all the advice, I have now fixed the problem which took about 10 mins. I'm quite proud of my first 'mechanical' job!  Goodbye to the South.Hello to the North 😬 😬 😬
