Paul Ranson
Seriously for sale since I appear to have bought half a Gould GR37-DFR.... Chassis: Pilbeam MP82, 1997, ex-works. Engine: Swindon-Vauxhall 2 litre, approx 290BHP/9000rpm. Transmission: Hewland FGC, sequential, 5 speed. Wheels: 1 set magnesium centres, new slicks this season, 2 sets aluminium centres, new wets/last seasons slicks. Spare fully assembled driveshaft, some wishbones, usable front wings, front upright etc. Pi C-Dash and System-1 logger. The car is configured for radial Avon tyres and is really quite fast but still not too intimidating to drive. Pictured on page 10 of the current 'Speed Scene' and also somewhere in the Loton report in the current 'In Gear' mag. Low quality 'action' shot here, I'll produce some others soon. Thinking about £25000, but will seriously entertain offers. Aviation Enterprises 'clam shell' style trailer could be available if needed. And of course copious assistance with gear ratios and general running of car. The car will be at Loton this weekend and Prescott the weekend after. paul@kilmory.demon.co.uk

ECR
"The car is configured for radial Avon tyres and is really quite fast but still not too intimidating to drive" Having taken up Pauls offer of a drive in this car I can confirm the above. Will make a great buy for someone..... Ex Chairman Roger

Peter T
WOULD YOU BE WILLING TO SELL the engine alone? C7 PWT Pure Steel XE.
Paul Ranson
WOULD YOU BE WILLING TO SELL the engine alone? Not at this stage. But I've often wondered what it would be like in a Caterham. The engine is very driveable... Paul

Mike Bees
Bagsy first dibs if it gets down to "free to a good home". I'm hoping to be at Prescott too for only my 2nd outing of the year (haven't been told that I'm not in yet). Mike
Paul Ranson
Mike, The Prescott finals came on Monday complete with your name on them. Car 44, FWIW. Paul
Mike Bees
Thanks! Another thing to berate the Royal Mail with then. Received a letter today (dated 23 May) from NPower's debt collection dept. Apparently they sent me a bill in April, and an unspecified number of reminders, none of which arrived. Other stuff has gone missing too. Apologies for hijacking the For Sale thread... DaveK
Who's bought the other half Paul ? I was looking at the car @ gurston and thought it was a bargain. All you need is to update to the high nose config + a spare. IIRC i think the car also still runs a reverse gear in the fgc. Good luck with the sale paul as I can vouch it is an easy car to drive and the engine is a absolute peach. Dave
Paul Ranson
Who's bought the other half Paul ? Martin Groves. But maybe it was meant to be a secret.... I was looking at the car @ gurston and thought it was a bargain. I think it's going to have been a reasonable buy... All you need is to update to the high nose config + a spare. Cheap as chips.. Maybe over the winter. We need more wheels/tyres first. IIRC i think the car also still runs a reverse gear in the fgc. It has a clever double width first and still runs 5 speeds and reverse. Don't know quite how they've managed that. The other day I was reading the DFR workshop manual (!) and it suggests you need to allow for 4.5 litres of oil consumption during a GP. Thats about 40 miles per litre! Paul
