Terry Field
Afriend has stripped down his V8 Land Rover and needs advice on a couple of things. 1. The crank needs regrinding, and the bores possibly honing. Can anyone recommend a good engineering company in the Woking/Guildford area 🤔 2. Is there a recognised method, beyond using engine degreaser, to remove all the black deposits which accumulate on engine internals. Can they be made shiny by dipping or some other process 🤔 Many thanks Terry Trying to get out of the garage

Sheds Moderator
Engine lacquer can be removed by leaving the bits of engine in a bucket of diesel for a day or two. Wear gloves, you want clean metal, not diesel dermatitis. Oh, and it stinks.
Gridgway
also you can try Ian Smith at GRL motors in Woking 01483 725759. Highly recommended specialist garage that can get anything done or tell you were it can be done locally. NCJAVSC. Graham
