The breakdown for today is a dimly glowing alternator light, I imagine presaging dead battery in a day or so. It was late last night so I have not yet had chance to check over obvious stuff. So: assuming it is just a brushes/reg problem, please does anyone know the part number or the original donor car? The car is a 1996 1.4kss so I am guessing Rover 214. Secondly, is this model fitted with a big fuse in the charge circuit? These are very prone to corrosion issues which cook alternators IIRC.
