FH Posted June 11, 2003 Share Posted June 11, 2003 I'm not a father, so.....a bit difficult for me to comment 😬 But I will have mine staying with me for the next few days He's 79, nearly blind, quite frail and beginning to have a few problems with concentration but is still as wonderful as he was when he was fully sighted and of razor-sharp wit. He's been my best friend; we worked together for nearly ten eventful and challenging years and he was always there to offer comfort and support Any person who has met him has commented on what a perfect gentleman he is. He is calm, (unless his cricket or football team are losing - oh, and if a politician not of his persuasion says something particularly stupid) 😳 He has made my world a happier place and although our remaining time together is probably quite short, I owe a tremendous amount of what and who I am to how my father helped me to develop. And the kids jumping all over the bed is one of the best bits 😬 FH - very beautifully put. I have a daughter, and if she said that about me I think I'd burst with happiness/pride/etc (especially as she's only 4 years old ). Will you tell him as much on Sunday?
