Phil Posted June 10, 2003 Share Posted June 10, 2003 I would like to check the timing on my 1700cc 1990 car, my friend has a good quality timing light I can borrow but I need advice please on timing marks and how to go about it, thanks for any help given. The procedure is documented in the Owner Manual (it is in mine anyway) but I assume you don't have a copy hence the question. How urgent do you need to do this? As I could photo copy and post to you or I could scan and email. Also you may need to do some checking as if the engine has been modified EG for unleaded the recommended timing may not be applicable. Should not be a big deal as with a bit of playing and recommendations from other Xflow owners you should be able to work out the best setting for your car easily enough.
