Graham Perry
I can't remember a debate on this lately, but what are peoples preferred spring rates (pounds) for competition use on a standard width Di-dion Caterham. I am in the process of changing mine. I had 285 front and 180 rear and found them about perfect, but am prepared to listen to advice, before ordering the new ones. Whats the current race track favorite, assume a car weight of 600kg including driver ?

Peter Carmichael
The rear spring rates that you two are quoting are *high*. You would get better traction over bumpy stuff and better ride by dropping to ~150lb/in. The standard (these days) progressive springs are actually very good and have a lovely feel. The ride frequency should never be much above 1.4hz. Have a look at: this, this, this and this
gareth
Peter Very interesting, but my setup was done after two days at Pembrey, on a trial basis of springs and roll bars and this was fastest for me. Time 1.00.2 on ACB10's which is quick
