Boonie Hound
What is it that the pancreas produces cos that was what came withing a gnats banana of killing my wife a coule of years ago. The gall bladder kicked out a stone blocking the pancreatic duct (I think - Mrs B is the medical woman) so the pancreas decided to squirt everything surrounding it - burning most things in its path. On the bright side I got staff discount in the hospital canteen in the end so it was well worth the trip as no washing up and great lasgne. 😬
scooby dooby doo
The kidney is basically a filter so everything that's small comes out the blood into the kidney. it then actively and selectively absorbs back the good stuff leaving the bad stuff and some water. scooby dooby doo
The pancreas produces glucagon from the beta islets of Langerhans. Boonie Hound
Bow to the Hoopsters superior medical knowledge and add that the pancreas produces digestive enzymes as well. The rest is all magic to me and I will not be convinced otherwise with technical explanations - never did understand science.
Violet Elizabeth
Kidneys... Loops of Henlee , as Dave says basically Sodium pumps. So yer Gerbils and other desert mamals have long ones to retain as much water as possible. Pancreas secretes pancreatic fluid which is a bit like milk of magnesia, and you would want that flying around !
