Leadership Team Mcalvert Posted May 19, 2003 Leadership Team Share Posted May 19, 2003 Can someone confirm if MIRA has the same lenient noise limits as Curborough? Thanks, Michael.

Tam
Graham Sorry to be a pain, but at what revs please? Could be time for that new Raceco exhaust we've been promising ourselves 😬 Tam
KenEvans
Revs are normally about 2/3 of you max. So if your red line is at 7500 they'll ask you to rev to about 5000 ish. Ken
Paul Ranson
The MIRA supplementary regulations don't vary the noise limit from the MSA standard, which is 108dBA at 2/3 max rpm measured at 50cm etc etc etc. Unless advised otherwise in the final instructions I suppose. Anyway I doubt that there is a noise problem at MIRA necessitating a reduction from the MSA limits. Paul
Tam
Thanks chaps. I was tested at Curborugh at 4500 rather than 2/3 max so it does seem to vary! If it really is 108 I'm OK - 103 at 3/4 could be tricky however.....
Paul Ranson
It shouldn't vary unless explicit in the Supplementary Regulations. The rules are clear for speed events. 108dBA at 2/3 max rpm. (Of course many people are uncertain what their max rpm are... It's very sensible to not have a rev counter, the only use for which would appear to be noise testing.)
