fireblade
Got a new Raceco repackable Ti can for my Fireblade a couple of weeks ago. Looks gorgeous and fitted perfectly out of the box, as it was custom made based on the old one. The new can is 7.25"x28" and 5.5kg, the original was 6"x23" and 7kg. The additional length was got by shortening the inlet pipe. See before and after pictures here Tested at Goodwood (and using Maplin noise neter) at 96db @ 7500rpm, 0.5m, 45 deg. Ammo does it again.... John Latham
Luke Beaumont
Thanks for posting that. I have a Fireblade BEC and it's nice to know that you can make them quiet enough for the strict circuits.
Lee
Just out of interest, what was it registering at 7500 with the old one?
fireblade
Well, I got 105db @ 4250 RPM static at Bedford on the original can (didn't tell them it was a BEC), so I imagine a fair bit more at 7500! I think the standard silencers vary a fair bit. Mine was very raspy. Richard Meaden's blade was OK at Bedford, according to a marshall. Not sure if that was pre- or post-airbox though. I now drive at trackdays without earplugs, which is great. No point in having a loud car if you have to wear plugs to stop going deaf :-) John
AMMO
Thanks to everybody who has given Raceco silencers the thumbs up in recent days. It is very much appreciated. AMMO
