Joe 90
I want to upgrade my XFlow to a 5 speed gearbox so I am looking for: T9 box. I really want the SPC semi-helical job, but I may have to start out with the std ratios. Bellhousing, preferably alloy of course. Propshaft for ital live axle. Gearstick extension bits Anything else that I don't know I need yet I've got more time than money at the moment, so I'd take stuff that needs reconditioning. Upgradeitis ward, awaiting open wallet surgery. 100,016 miles
Gary Furst
I have a 5 spd gearbox for sale, contact me for more details. One question though what length of input shaft to casing do you need, as I believe there are a number of different lengths available? Contact me at gary.furst@freeuk.com Regards Gary
tiddy1
Gary, you also need the alloy spacer that goes between the box and bell housing, and a spedo drive, and gearbox mount, and an angle grinder and some welding kit, its a fun job, good luck Simon
Joe 90
I've sourced a gearbox from BGH, but I'm still looking for the other bits. Is there such a thing as an alloy bell housing with integral oil tank? Upgradeitis ward, awaiting open wallet surgery. 100,016 miles
Chelspeed
For a Caterham with a type 9 five speed you don't need a gear lever extension the standard knobby comes out in the right sort of area. There is an alloy bellhousing with integral dry sump oil tank, they were fitted as standard to the Vauxhall race cars that were the prestige race series before the SLR's. I would think they're pretty rare now though. Fairly nasty dry sump tank too, pretty small, very odd shape and need to use a hydraulic clutch (which is actually a good thing).
