VHPD Crank Grinding

F355GTS

Recommended Posts

I've stripped my engine and subject to some crack/ straightness testing it looks like many of the parts will be recoverable.

The head had two bent valves but the guides look OK, I'll have it stripped and checked plus the valves replaced

The Crank has a few dents in that look too deep for a polish so does anybody know if VHPD cranks can be ground and if oversize bearings are available? I know they were/are tuftrided and it may need re-treating

Mark,

I don`t know about the mains other than if you have a crank that was the biggest grade of main shell you could go down to the next size a medium (blue) shell or the smallest. The Standard OE Rover shells being available in three graded sizes.

There are .25mm undersized shells available for the Big Ends however. These are the uprated Vandervall VP2 shells and are available from either QED or Caterham.
