Big Brother
Not that I own a K-series but for those who do, I thought this may be of interest.. http://www.shame.4mg.com/ Steve Se7en-Up! Less is more! old captain slow
I agree about the pop-ups. Got so intense I couldn't seem to get out of the page at one point. So what's the message? My K is 1996 and has done about 32k miles so according to the data it's due for a gasket failure. Could the vague smell of coolant when it's hot be an early warning? What's the 7 experience of K failures? C7 CDW
Big Brother
Sorry guys, I just thought it might be of interest to K series owners. I found the site by following a link from an Elise site - apparently they are prone to failures too. The general concensus seems to be that poor bleeding/leaks of the cooling system can lead to localised overheating and gasket failure. There have been quite a few posts about head gasket failures and loads about temp problems and airlocks on K's. As for the pop ups - sorry, I only saw one http://www.lame-delegation.de/mgf-net.de/bleed/ This page here seems pop up free (on my PC anyway) and makes for an interesting read. I like the bit about the factory using a vacum pump to fill the engine with coolant. Give me a crossflow anyday Steve Se7en-Up! Less is more! V7 SLR
You guys need Pop-up Stopper. Click here to download. It can be annoying occasionally because you really want something to pop up. In these circumstances, just hold CTRL down and click on the link of choice.
