Griff
Some the poppers in my tonneau and half doors are loose and need replacing. Is there a tool or technique to get a good result?
Big Brother
Yes, You can buy one from Redline for around £7.00 Just be "gentle" if you have the black plastic covered poppers as the plastic splits very easily. Gridgway
I have sent my spare popper tool to many people who have borrowed it and then sent it back! Even cheaper than £7.00! Graham
Tony C
I found it very difficult to use the standard "hammer and anvil" tool, especially when the item is on the car and a solid surface is not available. I bought a 4 inch 'G' clamp, one with a square cut thread. I fastened the anvil part of the tool to the fixed part of the 'G' clamp and the cut-off end of the hammer part to the threaded part. To properly close the rivet part of the popper is a simple winding down of the 'G' clamp. Believe me, I tried every method and this was by far the easiest and gave a real good fastening. Hope you have equal success. Cheers, Tony (SVA tomorrow) BRG SV 😬 Boxes empty, car full

Nick Woods
By loose do you mean they are rattling or do they just come undone easily ? If its the latter you can gently squeeze the 'male' popper with a pair of pliers to make it slighty oval. This usually gives enough grip to hold it shut.
