Glenn Wheeler
If and when I get away from decorating and actually start my winter rebuild, I am going to need info on price and suppliers for fully adjustable platform shock absorbers and spring poundage (for road going VX HPC)also AP twin pot calipers. Any help please?? Oh and belated happy new year to everybody. Glenn Wheeler M17 SOK Red living in Cheadle Hulme.
Luke Beaumont
For starters, how about www.ledasuspension.co.uk and AP Racing. One of the companies that specialise in Caterham race preparation should be able to both source the parts and give advice on configuration. Alex Wong1697456877
For road use, I'd stick to the Bilsteins and add the adjustable coil overs from Caterham. 200lb is fine for road (Mine's on 180lb!) and increased up to 250 to 300lb for track use from what I've heard. I haven't really seen the need for adjustables or heavier springs on my Vx and it really doesn't feel too soft. It does have an 18mm front anti roll bar though. The big brakes are worth it but I also hear good things about James Whiting's Alcon setup which were used in the 24 hr Nurburgring event. It's cheaper and lighter as it uses the standard non vented disks. It's worth uprating the master cylinder as this improves pedal feel.
