smutly
I have a small amount of play on my front nearside wheel bearing. The bearings are supposed to be new before I bought the car. The manual say's play can be adjusted out by removing the wheel nut split pin and tightening to remove play. The plit pin is then replaced. It also cautions about over tightening. I can eliminate the play by tightening the wheel nut, but tightening to the next slot on the wheel nut so I can then replace the split pin is way to tight. Is there a shim kit available so I can shim out the play by placing shims between the wheel nut and bearing? Help
Allen Payne
There is normally another hole in a different position that you may be able to use.
