Joe 90
Nick, Is this the semi-close ratio semi-helical gear set in a type 9 case 🤔 Oliver 100,016 *biggrin*miles so far
DohNut
Oliver This is a completly straight cut gearset in a type 9 casing. (XR4i type 5 speed) I would say that they are close ratio as Quaife supply three sets of ratios for the type 9 and this is the "closest." If you are refering to the SPC box then this has closer ratios but is noisier Nick
EFA
Nick/Oliver, The closest set Quaife do is: 2.41 first gear 1.54 1.21 1.00 0.93 However the best set for a Caterham is as you have: 2.04 first gear 1.54 1.21 1.00 0.87 Use a 3.92 diff and 13" wheels though! Chelspeed
However you do maths 2.04 is closer to 1.54 than 2.41. I'm confused (and pissed but it's gone midnight so what's new?)
Joe 90
Thanks for the clarification. I am interested in an SPC box, but things get confusing because Quaife make the gears for it ❗ 100,016 *biggrin*miles so far
