JKJ
The rear alloy arch protectors on my Caterham are looking the worse for wear, and in need of replacement. Do I need to just drill out the old pop rivets and replace like with like in the same holes ? A previous post suggested that replacement alloy protectors might now be of a different size therefore causing the rivet holes to be in a different place, anyone done this job recently, will I need to replace the rubber beading also ? Mat Norris
Contrary to a previous posting, you can still get the old size protectors from caterham (£12.64 each), as I have just purchased some! Yes just drill out the 32 rivets and replace with new! Depending on what drill you have you may find it hard to drill out the rivets close to the body tub, due to lack of clearance. Use of a hobby drill prevents the need for removing the wings first. I have in the past used the old piping but at £1.72 from caterham you may as well replace it! CHRIS CLARK
Mark.question.gif Are you putting that 'Armour fend' (?) stuff over them to keep them pristine or do you think it'll give 'em that yellowy appearance? Would simple clear 'Fablon' help (like visor tearoffs)?
